No more fictionalised than any other real life hoodlums played in movies, I don't think

Yeah.

Very fictionalised, may I add.

DGMW I'm not taking anything away from them 2 films, love them both equally.

You mean the Joe Pesci characters that were based on real people in Goodfellas and Casino?

Re: Scariest Character in a Movie
The actor who plays the Millwall bloke in Green Street and and Sammy in The Business.

Say what you like about the films, but he's one of the very few actors who's managed to play the "orrible cunt" role convincingly.

Read somewhere he's actually done a bit of time in real life, no idea if that's true though.

Can't take any of Joe Pesci's characters seriously, more like comedy characters.

Re: Scariest Character in a Movie
I would hope so, as said other than Tim Curry as Pennywise the previous made for tv version was poor compared to the book

Ralph Fiennes as Amon Goeth in Schindler`s List.

All the worse for being real AND toned down for the film apparently.

I adore The Frighteners. Underrated film, that. Great fun.

Re: Scariest Character in a Movie
Ronald-Antly - tv miniseries. Hence the low grade.

Though I agree about the book, Tim Curry, as Pennywise, is about the only decent thing in it.

Do like the Soul Eater in The Frighteners - great effect that sinks when Jake Busey comes leering out.

Jaws scared the crap out of me when it was first on TV when I was a kid. Thought the freaking thing was gonna get me from the end of the bed. Still nervous of the water behind me when I'm messing around on holiday.

By and large it's the characters that suddenly leap up that get me, so I'll go for Mr Barlowe from the 1970s version of 'Salem's Lot.
